“Winter by Candlelight” was held Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Christ Lutheran Church, 4325 Sumner Street. Total paid reservations were 56; however, 50 actually attended.
Committee members were Dianne Dickey, CEOE; Annie Hitzeman; Sharon Hitzeman, CEOE; Kathy Janda, CEOE; Kathy London; Carol Packard, CEOE; and Jessi Stilwagon, CEOE. The programs and placemats were hand-made by committee members. In keeping with the theme, Winter by Candlelight, table decorations consisted of centerpieces with a focus on candles. The lights in the fellowship hall were dimmed for a glowing effect. Trees and snowmen were placed around the tables to give a winter appearance. Three different salads and dinner rolls were offered as a light meal with brownies and lemon bars for dessert; coffee and water for drinks.
The program was provided by Mary Coleman, co-owner of Alte Haus Bed & Breakfast and D&M Country Antiques and Linda Cochran, co-owner of Roca Country Inn and Sweet Annie’s. Door prizes were distributed throughout the evening. The Ways & Means committee held a 50/50 raffle.
