Professional Standards Program (PSP)

LPSAOP members are encouraged to achieve recognition through the PSP program. This is a certification program for Educational Office Professionals employed with Lincoln Public Schools, Lincoln Nebraska.

Through this Professional Standards Program (PSP), members who have attained accomplishments based on education, experience, staff development and professional activity are recognized. The PSP program is established by our parent organization, the National Association of Educational Office Professionals, (NAEOP).

The Professional Standards Program is a multi-level certification program based on education, experience, staff development and professional activity. Successful completion of a LPSAOP approved program qualifies the member for one or more of the following Professional Standards Program certificates:

  • Basic
  • Associate Professional
  • Associate Degree
  • Advanced I
  • Advanced II
  • Advanced III (CEOE - Certified Educated Office Employee)
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's Degree
  • Doctoral Degree

The Lincoln Public Schools Board of Education agrees to provide a stipend to those personnel meeting the standards established by the National Association of Educational Office Personnel Professional Standards Program:

  • Basic - $.48
  • Associate Professional - $.52
  • Associate Degree - $.54
  • Advanced I - $.56
  • Advanced II - $.60
  • Advanced III - $.64
  • Bachelor's Degree - $.68
  • Master's Degree - $.72
  • Doctoral Degree - $.72

In order to apply for the PSP program or a certificate upgrade, an applicant must be a member of LPSAOP. Membership must be continuous while pursuing a PSP certificate. To achieve stipend recognition through LPSAOP, the applicant must be a member at the local, state, and national levels and must meet certain criteria.

The PSP Committee holds workshops for anyone interested in learning more about the PSP Program.  Everyone is welcome to attend the workshops.  The committee will assist with applications and recertifications.  The workshop dates scheduled for the 2009-2010 school year will be annouced. Recogniton Committee

The LPSAOP Recognition Committee is responsible for recognizing retirees and members employed with LPS in increments of five (5) years, beginning with the fifth year. Recognition for retirees will occur at the Spring Dinner. Recognition for members employed with LPS in five (5) year increments will be printed in the Spring Dinner program as well as in the Chronicle.

Additionally, the Recognition Committee is currently working to develop future awards that would recognize LPSAOP members once a year who have deomonstrated dedication and professionalism. These awards have been finalized and a link to them can be found above on the left hand side under "links". The awards are "Leading the Way" award and "Office Professional of the Year" award. Check them out and nominate a deserving LPSAOP member.
