Volunteer Connection - Kids Against Hunger

Last Saturday we had 25 enthusiastic members, family, and friends of LPSAOP help package 4968 meals for hungry kids in Lincoln and around the world – 10% of what we packaged will stay in Lincoln to be used in the Backpack Program. Ages of the volunteers ranged from 7 to retired. As you will see in the attached photos we had a good time helping Kids Against Hunger in their quest to keep children and their families from starving to death. Check out the pictures in the picture gallery under the events tab.

We have also been able to forward $140 in donations to Kids Against Hunger. Thank you for your generosity.

If you were unable to participate, we will have another packaging session in January or February. You can make a donation at any time!

Thank you for your support of our project this year!!

Your Volunteer Connection Committee,

Dianne Dickey, CEOE
Jamie Cunningham, CEOE
Carol Jaber

What a fantastic year for the PSP program! Personally, I am bursting with pride! Professionally, this shows the value of obtaining your PSP certification and your commitment to remaining an educational office professional.

I think a number of things lead to this kind of successful program-first off, a membership that believes in themselves. I know every person that commits to their PSP journey will make it-maybe not tomorrow, or next semester or even next year (just ask Brenda Roseberry!) but you will make it.  You took the first step of just finding out what you needed to complete a certification; your PSP Committee was there to guide you the rest of the way!

And speaking of your PSP Committee—they are the best group of ladies I could ask to work with and I believe a number of you would agree with me.  They are a great group of knowledgeable ladies that all have something to offer to our committee and organization. If you happen to see Jan Skoog, CEOE; Michelle Lemke-Mohling, CEOE; Debbie Doolittle, CEOE; Carol Packard, CEOE or Kathy Janda, CEOE, thank them for their work and dedication.

Everyone is welcome to attend any PSP workshop-no matter where you are in your journey. Even if you really are apprehensive about starting off, I encourage you to attend a workshop to just learn about the process, after all knowledge is power!

Whether you are working on your application, need help counting up hours for your recertification, or just want to come and learn about the program and get started, help will be available! Please RSVP to Nancy Harter if you plan to attend the next PSP workshop! We appreciate you letting us know your intentions so we can distribute committee members to help everyone.
