Annual Scholarship Information

Lincoln Public Schools Association of Office Professionals offers a scholarship each year. The Dianne Grieser Memorial Scholarship for $1000. This scholarship is based on financial need and offered to any LPS graduate that will be attending a Nebraska University/College, majoring in Business. The scholarship board will make the decision on the recipient and the recipient will be notified by mail. The scholarship is then formally awarded at the LPSAOP Spring Dinner each year, which is held in May. LPSAOP holds fundraisers in the fall to finance the annual scholarship. The LPSAOP Board may add an additional scholarship if enough money is raised.

Please feel free to download the Student Cover Letter and the 2010 Scholarship Application.

If you would like more information about LPSAOP Scholarships, please contact Amy Chandler, LPSAOP Scholarship Chair.

Volunteer Connection

Through the Volunteer Connection Program LPSAOP members have an opportunity to share their time and talents with others. Several volunteer events take place throughout the year in which LPSAOP members are able to help our community and country. A volunteer is a person who feels that people can make a difference and is willing to prove it!

If you would like to learn more about Volunteer Connection, please contact Dianne Dickey, CEOE, or one of your Board members.

LPSAOP Donates to the Friendship Home

The Volunteer Connection Committee concluded another successful project. LPS staff donated gifts to give to the Friendship Home. Some of the items donated were women's gloves, pajamas, shampoo, lotion, jewelry, and purses. Also donated were children's clothes, books, toys, hats, gloves, and many children's games. Over $100 dollars was received in cash and gift cards.

LPSAOP contributed $200 which Sarah Baden, CEOE, and Lisa Domina used to purchase items such as alarm clocks, towels, laundry detergent, dishes, kitchen utensils, and small appliances.

The Volunteer Connection teamed up with the Ways and Means Committee to gift wrap the items and to also gift wrap Christmas presents for anyone who brought their gifts in. They accepted donations from them. The Friendship Home decided not to have their gifts wrapped so any wrapping supplies donated for that purpose were given to the Friendship Home.
